2008 Sojourn Brochure and Registration Form (PDF)
A Pennsylvania River Sojourn is an educational adventure on a river to promote camaraderie, appreciation for the waterway and its wildlife, and a desire to protect this valuable resource. Whether you’re looking for one day or one week, a calm lake or a Class III river, a Sojourn awaits you!
Each of the many PA Sojourns is packed full of entertaining activities and presentations. Fishing and boating demonstrations and workshops can help develop your paddling techniques or serve as a refresher.
Sojourns connect you with PA’s great outdoors…be sure to look for bald eagles, waterfowl and river otters as you paddle. You’ll also have an opportunity to have a river’s eye view of several pristine natural areas, forests, state game lands, parks and trails and riverside communities.
The Pennsylvania River Sojourn Program is coordinated through a partnership between the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and the PA Organization for Watersheds and Rivers. For more information on Sojourns across the Commonwealth, visit www.pawatersheds.org
The Stony-Kiski-Conemaugh Sojourn is generally scheduled for the first weekend in June and features paddles through Packsaddle Gap, whitewater on the Stonycreek River and stops in or near Johnstown, Blairsville, and Saltsburg. For more details regarding this year's sojourn, see our news and events section.
