The Conemaugh Valley Conservancy has teamed up with GoodSearch and GoodShop. GoodSearch (powered by Yahoo's search engine) provides the CVC with 1 penny for each search performed. GoodShop provides the CVC with a percentage (up to 37%) of every purchase made through the GoodShop portal. (GoodShop represents many name brand retailers such as Walmart, Target, Amazon.com and many more.) Please consider helping the CVC by making GoodSearch your default search engine.

Annual CVC Meeting

The annual meeting of the membership of the Conemaugh Valley Conservancy will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at the Pine Ridge Lodge in Indiana County. This meeting is accompanied by a pot luck dinner and is always a favorite occasion for CVC members. A special presentation will be made by Brad Clemenson, Senior Project Manager and Communications Director of the PA Environmental Council. Brad will be talking about the expected and potential impacts of global climate change in Pennsylvania, including impacts to health, agriculture and recreation. He will also note some of the legislative proposals to address the issue along with related energy initiatives. Email JQKA@atlanticbb.net for reservations and details…there is no cost to attend.

West Penn Trail Pedestrian Bridge Dedication

On Thursday, 10:30 am, June 18, the West Penn Trail Pedestrian Bridge will be dedicated. This 560’ bridge spans the Conemaugh River at the West Penn Trail Westinghouse Trailhead. At the eastern end of the bridge the trail continues almost a mile out to Newport Road. The public is invited. For details email JQKA@atlanticbb.net.
